Hi! That's me

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet. I'm Darren, a photographer from South Yorkshire, I love all forms of photography, especially Astro photography, landscapes and aerial photography. I had the biggest honour when I was shortlisted from the Astronomy Photographer Of The Year Awards, my image is now in the Royal Maritime Museum in the gallery along with other fantastic astronomy shots.

Live the moment, love the experience and keep it forever.

I've had a "proper" camera for around 14 years, getting this camera was one of the best decisions I have made. I love landscapes and I try to capture images that people can look into and see something different every time, I don't just want to capture a picture, I want to capture the mood, the feeling, and make people think that they are there in my images.

Heart Of The Aurora

What can I say about the above image? Well, to see this shot in all it's glory, please visit the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, where this shot is on display, not only is it on display, I made a video with the museum regarding shooting the aurora in the UK, this was the highest honour I've ever had (to date), and it has certainly given me confidence in my photography.

Aerial Photography

Holy island of lindisfarne, northumberland

07.12.2025

I love aerial photography, here's a shot from a couple of years ago when I shot the causeway looking towards the Holy Island Of Lindisfarne up in Northumberland. I love to get those views and angles that you would never usually see, that doesn't mean flying at 400 feet, but just searching for the best view.

The Long & Winding Road

Peak district, Derbyshire

07.12.2025

I don't only photograph seascapes, living on the edge of the peak district makes me feel lucky and that I can get out and don't have to travel far. The above shot is from the top of Mam Tor near Castleton, believe it or not it was absolutely freezing when I shot this, and the wind was blowing a gale.
